2022 has started with a significant and worrying surge of cyber-attacks on accountancy firms and software providers. We have seen some very well-known UK firms (such as The Brookson Group, SJD and Nixon Williams) suffer significant cyber-attacks during January and February.

In addition, Intuit Quickbooks experienced a cyber-attack early in February that has sent shockwaves through the accountancy profession. At the core of these events lies the importance of securing the accountancy supply chain and maintaining/recovering normal service as quickly and efficiently as possible. For example, SJD are a Top 50 UK firm yet remain in crisis nearly 3 weeks after their initial attack.

If firms such as these are unable to recover quickly – can yours? Cyber criminals do not differentiate between sizes of business, and many attackers do not specifically seek out the end victim. Often you will suffer the ripple effect of a cyber-attack on your supply chain. As an accountant your business will be internet facing, you will deploy third-party software and as result – you have a risk to manage.

In this session we cover:

  • Accountancy Risk: The Reality
  • Supply Chains: Your Greatest Threat & Risk of Reliance
  • Internet Facing Systems: If You Are Connected, You Can Be Hacked
  • Cyber Attack on Your Practice: The Impact on Your Clients
  • Employee Cyber Diligence and the Human Firewall
  • Managing a Cyber Attack in a Transparent & Ethical Manner
  • Cyber Essentials: Reduce Your Risk by 80%
