The course provides a financial update on the preparation of school accounts and cover the requirements for reporting for the 2024/2025 school year. Topics covered include changes to the chart of accounts, updates to accounting treatments and a review of the submission process.  

Training will be provided by FSSU personnel.

Lorraine Farrell

Lorraine Farrell is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and joined the FSSU in 2022 as a Financial Accountant. Prior to this, Lorraine worked in a range of sectors including pharmaceutical and aircraft leasing.

Lorraine works across the Primary and Post Primary school sectors within the FSSU and is involved in providing financial advice and support to boards of management of schools on a wide range of issues including budgeting, cashflow management and forecasting, Revenue obligations as well as regulatory and statutory obligations to the Department of Education, Charities Regulator and the CSO.

Yvonne White

Yvonne White is an CPA accountant with over 25 years’ experience working in both corporate and public accounting. She joined the FSSU in 2017 when the Department of Education extended the remit of the unit to include both Primary and Community & Comprehensive Schools. She has a strong background in providing financial advice and support including consulting services, cash management, forecasting and auditing.

Her role involves supporting boards of management of schools in meeting their fiduciary duties as well as regulatory and statutory obligations to the Department of Education, Charities Regulator and the CSO
