Michael Kavanagh
Michael Kavanagh started his career in financial services in 1995. Michael worked with both Irish Life and New Ireland assurance as a Financial Advisor where he advised clients on Life & Pension products.
Michael then moved to Bank of Ireland Life where he became an Insurance and Investments Manger advising the banks clients on Financial Planning and Financial Products.
In 2005 Michael was appointed as Commercial Branch Manager with Ulster Bank where he managed the day to day function of a retail and commercial bank branch. Michael gained vast experience in business lending, mortgages and managing a team of retail, commercial staff while all the while delivering the highest standard of customer service. Michael was approached by National Irish Bank (Danske Bank) to set up and manage the Wealth Management division in Southern Ireland. This role encompassed all the skills Michael had learned to date in managing a team of Financial Planners. Developing and implementing Wealth Management strategy and training programme for a network of 13 bank branches and 5 Commercial business centres.
Michael works closely with stakeholders and their Tax advisors to provide retirement and exit strategies for business owners and company directors. This encompasses Inheritance and wealth distribution planning.
Michael is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) and holds a Diploma in Wealth Management. He also is an Approved Product Advisor (APA) in both Commercial General Insurance and Personal General Insurance products. Michael is qualified to provide clients with products from over 10 product providers. Michael Kavanagh is also qualified to provide advice on Self Directed Pensions where clients can invest in property, UCITS, Listed Shares & Bonds, Collective Instruments, Deposits through their pensions. As a Registered Mortgage Intermediary with the Central Bank of Ireland, Michael is a regulated Mortgage Advisory.
Michael is a member of the Life Insurance Association (LIA) and was Chairman of the Life Insurance Association Southern Region in 2015.
