In this session, Elaine focusses on the Importance of Analysing the Financial Statements when making decisions in relation to Investing in a Company, Merging with a Company, Acquiring a Company, Selling your Company or Planning for your Company’s Growth.

It is worth reminding ourselves that within the Directors Responsibilities Statement there is the following sentence; “Under company law, the directors must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities and financial position of the company as to the financial year end and of the profit or loss of the company for the financial year and otherwise comply with the Companies Act 2014.

If it is the case that “the financial statements give a true and fair view”, then what are investors/purchases/reviewers overlooking / missing when they analyse the financial statements.

In this session Elaine covers the following topics;

  • The Directors Report
  • The Accounting Policies
  • The P & L
  • The Balance Sheet
  • The Cashflow Statement
  • The Notes to the Financial Statements
  • The Key Ratios
  • Looking beyond the Financial Statements
