A certified public accountant. He has in depth and detailed knowledge of the charitable sector including working with a range of funders and grant making bodes. Tony has a unique understanding of the wider sector and the challenges faced by charities especially relating to funding cuts and increased competition in the aftermath of Covid-19.

Tony has a wealth of experience working with CEOs and Boards assisting with organisational budgets, preparing, and presenting management accounts and payroll workings.

Orla Rafferty

Orla Rafferty, from Orla Rafferty Consulting, provides bespoke consulting and coaching services, tailored to meet business, sector, and individual needs.

A Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and over 26 years of HR Management experience having worked across multiple industries and sectors. In 2013, she set up her own consulting business.

Her specialisms include HR, employee relations, cross border working, HR & business strategy, leadership and management, workplace conflict, employee investigations and mediation. Over the years she has gained working knowledge and experience of global employee relations with particular insight into US, Poland, all UK regions and Ireland.

Grant Thornton

Claire Thomson

Claire is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, and trained with Grant Thornton Ireland. She spent 5.5 years in corporate audit, before moving to the firm’s risk & compliance team, where she spent 6 years supporting the all-Ireland practice as their UK financial reporting subject matter expert.

After a year in OmniPro’s Practice Support team, where she delivered webinars, developed technical content and provided post-monitoring support to firms, she has now joined Grant Thornton Northern Ireland, where she is Head of UK Financial Reporting and Accounting Technical, providing UK technical advice and support to local and international offices.

Elaine Jackson

As a member of our Practice Support team, Elaine’s focus is on providing firm’s with assistance and training in the following areas; Anti-Money Laundering, Audit Testing and Walk Through Procedures, Audit Planning and Efficiency, OmniPro Audit Working Paper Demos, Preparing for Monitoring Visits and Post Monitoring Visit follow-ups.

Elaine has over 15 years Accountancy Practice experience which has provided her with a wealth of knowledge across all industries and sectors. Elaine is an AITI Chartered Tax Advisor, a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Diploma in Corporate Finance.

In her previous roles, Elaine has experienced a number of ACA and ACCA monitoring reviews. This experience has provided Elaine with a great understanding and appreciation for the challenges facing Accountants in practice today.

Tierney Tax Consultancy

Rose Tierney

Rose Tierney is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser in both the UK & Ireland. She previously worked as a director with a Big Four firm in Dublin and prior to that several years were spent in London advising businesses on tax planning and transactions.

In 2004, Rose established an independent Tax Practice, Tierney Tax Consultancy and has since then been advising clients in the SME sector and their accountants and solicitors on various aspects of Irish and UK taxation.

Lindsay Webber

As a member of our Practice Support team, Lindsay’s focus is on helping practices achieve on-going best practice compliance, providing in-house training, technical assistance, and file reviews.

Lindsay is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Accountants Ireland. She trained with KPMG in Johannesburg and specialised in external audit of financial services companies. She then spent six years lecturing audit and financial reporting to under-grad and post-grad students at Rhodes University in South Africa before moving to Ireland and returning to practice in a small, and then a medium sized firm where she was an audit manager. Altogether, she has over six years external audit experience along with over six years academic experience specialising in Audit and Financial Accounting. She is passionate about combining her academic and practice backgrounds to provide technical information in a useful and practical way.

Outside of her accounting qualifications Lindsay holds a PGDiploma in Higher Education from Rhodes University and graduated with distinction from the MBA course at Trinity College Dublin. She is currently working towards a Diploma in Forensic Accounting through Chartered Accountants Ireland.
