Sinead Gortland

Sinead joined the Corporate Consultants formations team in OmniPro in 2016 and built up her experience and knowledge before moving into the Company Secretarial team and is the current Head of OmniPro Company Secretarial.

As a key member of CPD Stores speaker team Sinead’s focus is Beneficial Ownership, Annual Compliance and Corporate Governance. Sinead is passionate about making company secretarial and company law accessible and approachable to agents and accountants.

As a member of the Corporate Consultants team Sinead is also responsible for carrying out; Section 343 applications, High Court Company Restorations, Annual Compliance, Company Law Compliance and AML. As well as this Sinead delivers bespoke training in the areas of corporate governance and compliance.

In her previous roles Sinead spent time in education and ESG and has a MSc from Maynooth.

Friel Stafford

Tom Murray

Tom qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) in 1997 whilst working with Chase Manhattan Bank. Tom has over 20 years experience in accounting and business roles.

He is one of Ireland’s most experienced corporate recovery and turnaround practitioners and was one of the first Personal Insolvency Practitioners licensed in Ireland.

He also is an experienced Corporate Financier with particular interest and expertise in the area of equity and debt fund raising, and the buying and selling of businesses.

He is heavily involved with the ACCA accountancy body and is a past President of ACCA Ireland. He represented ACCA Ireland at the ACCA International Assembly in 2011. He was nominated in January 2021 by ACCA to represent it on the the CCABI insolvency Committee.

He is authorised to act as a Personal Insolvency Practitioner by the Insolvency Service of Ireland.

Dessie Morrow

Dessie is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Corporate Recovery department.

With expertise in restructuring, examinership and corporate advisory, his career spans more than sixteen years of experience, providing tailored restructuring solutions for businesses in difficulty across a broad spectrum of industries. Specialist sectors include construction, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, distribution, agri-business and healthcare.

As an experienced insolvency practitioner and appointment holder, Dessie’s key focus includes the following; advisory support to accountants and solicitors seeking insolvency advice for their clients, Process Adviser acting in SCARP cases, Circuit Court or High Court appointed examiner to companies (which are insolvent but have a reasonable prospect of survival), fund-raising assignments, sale of business mandates, due diligence, preparation of expert witness reports, cross-border insolvency work with particular focus on the UK and Cyprus and debt settlements with secured creditors.

Dessie is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway. He was a contributor to the 2021 Chartered Accountants Ireland publication, ‘A Practical Guide to Examinership’.

David Hegarty

David Hegarty is Director of Legal & Policy. A barrister, he was formerly an Enforcement Portfolio Manager with the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE).

He qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and transferred to the Bar in 2006, practising primarily in the area of criminal defence and advocacy.

Prior to joining the ODCE, he was Advisory Counsel in the Office of the Parliamentary Legal Adviser advising the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission and Service and Parliamentary Committees on constitutional, parliamentary and administrative law matters.

He has also worked as a legal officer in the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) and at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in The Hague, working in Judges’ Chambers with international judges trying economic crime, corruption, abuse of public office, war crimes and conspiracy to commit terrorism cases.
